• Seiji is one of two Troopers with healing capabilities (Shin being the other). However, Seiji focuses more on the physical aspects of healing, while Shin focuses on a person's emotions/mentality (i.e. during Kikoutei). Seiji only displays his healing powers once (i.e. Ryo is blinded by Naaza's poison in Episode 5), so it's possible Seiji's only capable of restoring a person's sight (i.e. "guiding them to the light," so to speak). • Seiji is the tallest of the Troopers during the TV series (5'5"). Later on in the series (i.e. OAVs), however, Touma is the tallest (5'10"). • Seiji has "sharp" eyesight. Some argue he is capable of sensing/seeing evil spirits and other manifestations. This, of course, is mostly speculation, though a popular characteristic/trait in fanfictions. • Seiji was born in Miyagi province. Sendai (i.e. the capital) is located in northeast Japan. He lives farthest north of all the Troopers (i.e. "Winter comes early in this town." - Seiji, Korinden). • Seiji drives illegally, as evident in Episode 20 (i.e. he drives Nasuti's car—then 14—without a license). F1 Racing (i.e. "Formula One" - is the highest class of single-seat, open-wheel formula auto racing. It consists of a series of races, known as Grand Prix, held on purpose-built circuits or closed city streets, whose results determine two annual World Championships—The World Drivers Championship WDC and the World Constructors Championship WCC. The cars race at speeds often in excess of 300 km/h (185 mph) with powerplants that produce, as of 2005, 900 Bhp at 18000 rpm.) is one of Seiji's many hobbies/passions. • Seiji is one of three characters from YST with emphasis to the eye. (The other two are Rajura [Dais] and Anubis [Cale].) • Both of Seiji's sisters have black hair—this IS official. Seiji's family is pure-bred, as in, fully-Japanese. • In some Japanese folklore, the color "purple" is an indication of a demon or a demon's presence. Since Seiji's eyes are an unusual color (i.e. pale lavender/light purple/whatever), this makes for very interesting fanfictions for both the "Ronin Warriors" and YST universes. However, other than sheer controversy amongst fans, it holds no vital purpose to the series itself. • Seji shares the same blood type (i.e. type "B") as his ancestor, Date Masamune. Also, the bones from Masamune's body were pretty handsome (i.e. Seiji is considered the "pretty boy" of the series). • Some fans argue Seiji may have feared his yoroi after his capture in America. I disagree. Seiji armors up in Kikoutei (which follows Gaiden and his capture in NYC) without complaint. And at the end of Message, Seiji says he will try to bring an "honorable name" to the Samurai Troopers (meaning he is willing to battle again, despite his weariness of fighting). Shin is the one who refuses to fight/armor up during Kikoutei (though, he has his reasons). • In Kendo, you have only four places you can hit for points: Men (i.e. head), Kote (i.e. forearms), Do (i.e. the sides of the chest), and Tsuki (i.e. throat; only used at ages 16 or higher.) • "Gaiden," roughly translated as "side story," takes place immediately following the TV series. Though it features all five Troopers, Seiji is an "exclusive" member, so to speak, having been lured to NYC by Shikaisen and the Mad Scientist (both villains). Seiji is captured and placed under a "mental torture" of sorts, Shikaisen controlling the Korin Yoroi (i.e. he ruthlessly slaughters citizens of New York—crushing their skulls, for example) in hopes of gaining power (i.e. with every kill, he grows stronger). It's an odd story that explains little, though I've always wondered why Seiji specifically was captured. I admit he is, in my opinion, the most competent of the five, but Ryo is the lead Trooper and typically pursued/sought after for power.
