Misconceptions
Seiji is a flirt.
Many believe Seiji a shameless flirt, a rumor born from what fans perceived as "friendly" behavior between Seiji and Nasuti during Episode 7 (and sometimes Episode 12). Though it's questionable as to why Seiji and Nasuti travel alone to Hokkaido—as Jun could have tagged along—there is nothing (in the original version) to charge Seiji with "womanizing" (or anything of the sort). On the contrary, Seiji dislikes talking with girls (YST Encyclopedia). Most "Ronin Warriors" sites separate Seiji from Sage (his "Ronin Warriors" counterpart), with "Sage" being a flirt and "Seiji" having some unprecedented "fear" of women (discussed further down the list). Considering NO information is released regarding the dub (as it is typically bastardized from its original, authentic source), any assumption regarding "Sage" and the dubbed universe of "Ronin Warriors" is FALSE.
Seiji is half-American since his father/mother is American, thus the reason he has blonde hair.
Seiji is pure-blooded Japanese. He is NOT a "hanyou" (i.e. "half-breed"), considering his father is a member of the police force (foreigners are NOT allowed to work as policemen), and his mother is the eldest (probably the eldest, though we're not entirely sure) Date daughter, whom are descendents of the famous general, Date Masamune.
Seiji is afraid of women.
No. No, no, no. When listing things Seiji is "not good with," it (i.e. YST Encyclopedia) specifically says, "speaking with women/talking with girls." Seiji is NOT afraid of women. He becomes "uncomfortable" when they flirt with him (i.e. a woman asks to marry him in "Nanpa Call," which he finds unnerving), and does not like speaking of women's attraction to him (i.e. "Date-kun, girls flirt with you, do they?" - Touma's mother, Tenkuden).
Seiji is "King Flirt" of Hana High School.
"Hana High" is a school created by fans of the series for fanfiction purposes only. The school itself does not exist, whether you're watching the dub, or the original Japanese. For some reason, the fan concocted school of "Hana High" holds firm throughout many YST sites, even though the Troopers live too far away from one another to attend the same school. For example, Seiji lives in Sendai, which is in northeast Japan, while Touma lives in Osaka, which is southern/central Japan. Likewise, Shin lives in Yamaguchi, which is southwestern Japan, and even further from Seiji than Touma. And so on and so forth.
Seiji and Touma are "best friends."
Once again, a fanbased assumption. Touma and Seiji have compatible personalities, and can be seen "hanging out together" throughout the series and CD dramas. However, the Troopers are "all good friends," as stated in YST Encyclopedia, with no regards to specific relationships. It's easy to see how one could arrive at this conclusion, though the assumption remains false.
Seiji and Nasuti are a "thing."
There are NO official pairings in the YST universe (with the exception of Naria and her fiance, Mukura, in Kikoutei). Any and all pairings between Nasuti/whomever are simply FANFICTIONS and/or doujinshi. Seiji is the most likely/plausible character, with specific scenes and bits of dialogue, as well as official images and/or image songs to emphasize the possibility. I've heard, though I cannot confirm, that in a Director's Cut of the final episode (i.e. TV series), Nasuti kisses Seiji on the cheek after Arago's defeat (if you can provide a source/confirmation of this, please e-mail me). SeijixNasuti is the most popular "normal"/heterosexual pairing in Japan (even today). It is a strange pairing, given their difference of age (which is only three years, though I've heard Japanese families prefer the men older), though I support them nonetheless, as their relationship—or rather, future relationship—is very likely.
Seiji and *insert male character here* are lovers.
We've established that NO official pairing for YST exists (with the exception I mentioned above). Contrary to popular belief, the Troopers do have feelings and/or potential relationships with women (imagine that). Ryo and Luna have an attraction in Gaiden, though what becomes of it we'll never know, as Luna is killed by Shikaisen in an attempt to avenge her brother. SeijixNasuti is VERY likely, and hinted at throughout the series (and widely believed/accepted by the Japanese audience). There is also "Nanpa Call" (i.e. "Flirting Call"), included in Cassette Book Collection 3. The Troopers play a card game (called "The Very Poor"), and the penalty for losing—in order from least to most points—is flirting with women (i.e. in this case). Nina has a translation, found here. It's HILARIOUS.
Seiji's a heartless bastard who is cold towards his friends.
Seiji can be "tactless" at times, especially if he loses his temper/is angry, though I seriously doubt anyone with the heart of "Rei" is a "heartless bastard." Seiji is reserved and straight-forward; he often comes across as blunt and unfeeling. But Seiji is pure-hearted with a good soul, and "tries" to make good decisions, even if "being good" does not always come naturally (compared to Ryo who, because of his heart, is good and wholesome by nature, where as Seiji's is driven more by society's expectations).
After knocking Shingo out, Seiji's grandfather, furious, sends Seiji to the "basement" for punishment.
Another popular misinterpretation in YST bios. The fictional "basement" is actually the family's "hanare," or rather, "storage room." I suppose the misconception began at Theria's Yoroiden Temple, the only YST shrine, at the time, with accurate (for the most part) translations/information regarding the series. The site contains few inaccuracies (though it is still, by far, one of the BEST YST shrines available), said "basement" one such oversight. It is a minor detail, though considering the importance of the Korin Yoroi's origin, I consider this detail, nonetheless, extremely important.
