Comrades

Sanada Ryo
Overall: Ryo is the bearer of both the Rekka Yoroi and the Kikoutei, making him the series' main character and starring role. His fiery temper is matched only by his compassion and overwhelming sense of virtue. ...However, he will often seclude himself in a rut of self-pity and depression when his friends are placed in danger due to his own faults, or by means he cannot control. Because Ryo blames himself for every mishap the Troopers encounter, and the stress of wearing the Kikoutei is so great, he stays physically and mentally exhausted throughout most of the series.

Mouri Shin
Overall: Shin is the bearer of the Suiko Yoroi and the series' pacifist. He is as gentle and calm as the element of Suiko suggests, but his serenity can quickly melt away if backed into a corner. Although Shin protests war and hatred, this feeling does not deter him from performing his duties as a Samurai Trooper—even if that means taking a stand against fighting.

Faun Shuu Rei
Overall: Shuu is the bearer of the Kongo Yoroi and the series' gluttonous powerhouse. His heart is as big as his appetite, despite his bull-charging persona. He has little tact and even less finesse, but his intentions are always noble. Shuu loves to fight and is usually one of the first Troopers out on the battlefield. ...Unfortunately, Shuu's bravado doesn't always work to the team's advantage. Shuu is often fooled or taken by surprise because of his thoughtlessness during and before a fight.

Hashiba Touma
Overall: Touma is the bearer of the Tenku Yoroi and the series' "brain." With his exceptional mind, he's always been treated as a "special" child, so the Troopers are his only friends. Touma is quiet and serious, with an appetite as exceptional as his IQ. With an amazing sense of loyalty, he will go to any and all lengths to protect what is most dear to him, even if it costs him his life.

Nasuti Yagyu
Overall: Nasuti serves as the heroine of our story, as well as advisor and friend of the Samurai Troopers. A research student at Shinjuku University, she unknowningly throws herself into a battle of good versus evil after an encounter with the fearful Youjakai. Being the eldest member of the YST gang—as well as an ace with ancient mythology—Nasuti provides priceless information to the Troopers for the duration of the series, proving to be a capable and indispensable ally.

Yamano Jun
Overall: Jun is the second civilian of our story, as well as the "irritating child" factor of the series. As is expected of a seven year-old, Jun is immature, impatient, and enthusiastic about the world around him. When his parents are captured by the Youjakai, he is left under the care of Nasuti Yagyu, who becomes a temporary mother and caretaker for the boy. Despite the chaos he is continuously caught up in, Jun handles his situation well, and proves to be very courageous in the face of danger.

Byakuen
Overall: Byakuen is the pet sidekick of YST. He is used as both an aid in battle and a method of transportation, as well as competent protection for both Nasuti and Jun in the absence of Seiji and/or the other Troopers. Much of Byakuen's past is a mystery, but despite it all, he remains ever faithful to his human, Ryo, and an irreplaceable member of the Trooper force.
