* Volume 15, Chapters 141-146, 148
Important: Kagura's introductory volume; uses fan to manipulate the dead; slaughters Kouga's comrades after wolf tribe is lured to Naraku's castle; Kagura battles Inuyasha and almost wins, but is blown away (i.e. her kimono top is dissolved, exposing her chest) after a blast by Inuyasha's Tetsusaiga; Kagura survives; has an elder sister, Kanna.

* Volume 16, Chapters 149-154
Important: Kagura coaxes Inuyasha into using the Tetsusaiga against her in battle; using Kanna's mirror (i.e. Kanna and Kagura work as a "team"), the "Cutting Wind" bounces back and blasts Inuyasha; Naraku appears and explains that Kagura is merely a "detachment" born of his own flesh; Kagura uses her wind powers to provide a route of escape for herself, Naraku, and Kanna; later, when Kikyou and Inuyasha meet, Naraku sends Kagura as a "spy" to reveal Kikyou's true intentions; Naraku creates a third incarnation of himself—Goshinki—who is Kagura's younger "brother."

* Volume 17, Chapters 163-164
Important: Meets Sesshoumaru for the first time, making the comment, "You've got a fine face;" Kagura reveals that she is an "offspring" of Naraku, as was Goshinki, whose teeth have been forged into the Toukijin; believes Sesshoumaru may be strong enough to defeat Naraku, and tells him the Toukijin belongs to him; Naraku creates Juuroumaru (i.e. the fourth "offspring"), which is Kagura's younger "sibling."

* Volume 18, Chapters 173, 178
Important: Naraku "removes" the burn mark from his back (i.e. slices it out with his sword), killing a nearby guard (i.e. he heard sounds and came to investigate), which Kagura finds "insane" (or rather, she asks if Naraku's "gone insane"); Kagura comes to reclaim Kohaku (i.e. the Shikon shard in his back), after he flees (i.e. escapes) from the castle (i.e. Naraku's castle) in confusion.

* Volume 19, Chapters 179-180, 182
Important: Kagura commands a group of youkai to retrieve Kohaku; Inuyasha and Kagura engage in battle; Miroku threatens to absorb Kagura with his "Air Rip," for which she escapes, though later returns to reclaim Kohaku once Naraku gains control of his mind.

* Volume 20, Chapters 192-193, 198
Important: Kagura flies the Dark Miko Tsubaki to Naraku's castle—as such, Kagura is primarily used as a "means of transportation" for Naraku.

* Volume 21, Chapters 201-205
Important: Kagura confronts Kouga outside Naraku's castle; a battle ensues, in which Kagura rips Kouga's Shikon shards from his legs; though Kagura intends to kill Kouga, Sango appears—with the rest of Inuyasha's party—and Kagura flees; hoping to escape Naraku's control, Kagura finds Sesshoumaru, and offers him her shards in exchange for killing Naraku (i.e. attempts to bargain with him); Sesshoumaru refuses, but provides her with sound advice; Inuyasha and the others catch up with Kagura, in which Kagura learns of Inuyasha's "transformation" (i.e. when he becomes human); Naraku rescues Kagura from Inuyasha's Tetsusaiga's power, but only to punish her later in the basement (or rather, a room beneath the basement) of his castle; Kagura makes the realization that Naraku is a half-youkai, much like Inuyasha.

* Volume 22, Chapters 210, 212-213
Important: Kagura is locked and chained (and badly beaten) in Naraku's "basement;" Naraku sends Kagura to follow Musou, an "offspring" of Naraku; Kagura saves Musou's "heart" from being destroyed by Inuyasha's "Cutting Wind."

* Volume 23, Chapters 219-221, 223
Important: Kagura kidnaps Rin under Naraku's orders; Kagura is sent to battle Inuyasha, who has broken Naraku's barrier with the "Red Blade;" Kagura only "pretends" to fight Inuyasha, hopeful that he might destory Naraku; Kagura carries Kohaku away (i.e. from Sesshoumaru and Inuyasha) on her feather.

* Volume 27, Chapters 265-267
Important: Kagura sits inside Mt. Hakurei; Sango and Miroku enter, battling Kagura; Kagura flees.

* Volume 28, Chapter 274
Important: Kagura makes the comment, "He doesn't trust me, you see" (i.e. in reference to Naraku); thrusts Sango and Miroku into the "darkness" (i.e. knocks them from a platform into a pit) at Mt. Hakurei.
