Sesshoumaru // Technique
With a complete youkai's power and a strategic wit, Sesshoumaru stands as one of the most intimidating fighters in the Inuyasha universe. He easily surpasses his opponents—Inuyasha included—in both strength, speed, skill, and accuracy. And with his dog-like capabilities, Sesshoumaru possesses a heightened sense of smell, sight, and sound, giving him the distinct advantage in battle.
It is widely assumed that Sesshoumaru, as he is now, is merely a "teen" or "youth," in comparison to his father. Thus, his powers are likely to increase with age, until he is one day as large, or larger than, his father (i.e. in his "true form"/dog-like state).
ATTACKS/WEAPONRY:
>>>Dokkasou ("Toxic Flower Claw")
This is Sesshoumaru's earliest/oldest attack, first used in Volume 2, Chapter 16. As the translation implies, Sesshoumaru uses the venom of his claws to poison difficult opponents, or quickly dispose of weaker ones. Sesshoumaru's noxious capabilities grant him immunity to even the strongest poisons, including Naraku's debilitating miasma. In short, the venom in his hand/system is capable of blinding a youkai's sight (Volume 13, Chapter 128), and numbing its movements (Volume 14, Chapter 129).
>>>Extended "Tail" (i.e. "moko-moko")
In Volume 7, Chapter 60, Sesshoumaru extends his "tail" to use as a weapon against Inuyasha during their second fight/encounter. His "tail" has never been identified as anything specific (dubbed "moko-moko" in an interview with Takahashi), though it is assumed to be part of Sesshoumaru's body. Though we are uncertain of the "tail's" true purpose—and it has yet to be used as a weapon since—it definitely provides an air of style to Sesshoumaru's arsenal.
>>>Tenseiga ("Heavenly Life Fang")
One of two swords forged from the fangs of Sesshoumaru's father by Toutousai, and left to Sesshoumaru after his father's death. This sword can only be classified as a "weapon" when used to destroy messengers from the world beyond (i.e. pall-bearers). Using Tenseiga's "sight," Sesshoumaru destroys the pall-bearers attempting to escort the victim's soul to heaven/hell. With the pall-bearers destroyed, the victim's soul is "saved," and their life restored. Although Tenseiga can resurrect the fallen, there is—most likely—a time limit (i.e. one must be revived within a certain period of time). It is a sword that cannot kill [the living], and as a result, Sesshoumaru initially despises its abilities.
In Volume 42, Chapter 410, Sesshoumaru's Tenseiga gains the "Meidou Zangetsu Ha" ability, which allows the user (i.e. Sesshoumaru) to send his enemies into the afterlife. When Sesshoumaru tests its abilities for the first time, the opening (i.e. cut of the blade) is only as large as a crescent moon. As Sesshoumaru improves, the opening will resemble that of a circle (i.e. full moon).
>>>Toukijin ("Fighting Oni God")
The Toukijin is a powerful sword forged from the fangs of Goshinki by the evil blacksmith, Kaijinbou. The fangs of Goshinki were originally strong enough to shatter the blade of Inuyasha's Tetsusaiga, so it's no surprise Sesshoumaru commissioned Kaijinbou to forge it. The sword's energy is enough to push an opponent back without making physical contact (i.e. the sword's "kenatsu"), much like the Tetsusaiga. Only Sesshoumaru can handle the Toukijin's overwhelming evil (Volume 17, Chapter 161).
The Toukijin was broken by Mouryoumaru's armored shell in Volume 41, Chapter 407.
